Theme preference (`casadosol_theme`) — stores your dark/light-mode choice. Local-only, never transmitted.
Language preference — remembers your selected language (EN, PT, ES, FR, DE).
Cookie consent (`casadosol_cookie_consent`) — records whether you have accepted or declined non-essential cookies.
Session management — required for the Smoobu booking widget to function.
Analytics (only set if you click "Accept All")
Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID `G-NV4MXBFTR2`) — helps us understand which pages and content are most useful so we can improve the site. We use
- Cookies set: `_ga`, `_ga_NV4MXBFTR2`. Retention: 2 months (data-retention setting in GA4).
- If you click *Essential Only*, no GA cookies are set and only cookieless, anonymised pings are sent (as defined by Google's Consent Mode v2). These do not identify you.

Smoobu Booking Widget — our booking integration may set cookies required for the booking process. These are governed by Smoobu's privacy policy.

3. Cookies We Do NOT Use
• No advertising or remarketing cookies
• No social-media tracking pixels (no Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, etc.)
• No cross-site tracking
4. Data Retention
Cookie consent choice — kept on your device until you clear it or 12 months pass, whichever comes first.
Google Analytics event data — 2 months at user/event level (the shortest setting Google offers); aggregate reports remain available indefinitely.
Contact form submissions — stored in our private database for up to 24 months for reservation follow-up, then deleted.
Booking-platform data (Smoobu) — retained per Smoobu's own GDPR-compliant policy.
5. Managing Cookies
You can change your consent at any time by clearing your browser's site-data for casadosol.pt — the consent banner will reappear on your next visit.
